The Army 10 Oldham Roughyeds 56

10/ 3/2008

EX-Wigan Warriors and Widnes scrum-half James Coyle shot in for two tries as Oldham had too much in their arsenal for The Army.

Coyle was on target twice for the visitors and he had a hand in four of Oldham’s tries as The Army struggled to keep up the intensity against National League 2 favourites Oldham.

Mick Nanyn also helped himself to a hat full of points as he struck six conversions as Oldham’s try scoring procession continued.

Marcus St Hillare scored the pick of the tries, finishing off a sweeping Oldham move out wide as The Army fell short on the left flank.

Oldham could have racked up plenty more points in the encounter but poor handling and bad execution on a number of occasions was to blame close to The Army’s line.
