Competition is good for us

DANNY Whitaker insists that the competition for places at Boundary Park is spurring him on after an impressive start to the season.

The summer signing has made an immediate impact, helping the club come from 3-1 down to beat Millwall on the opening day, scoring a penalty in the Carling Cup shoot-out success at Rochdale, effectively shielding the back four during the 2-0 win at Leeds United, before opening his account for the club during last weekend’s 4-0 defeat of Cheltenham Town.


 

A repeat of last season

LATICS were unable to make amends for last season as they exited the Carling Cup at the second round stage with defeat at Burnley for the second consecutive year.

OLDHAM are six points behind Lake Garage CLL leaders Heywood following a weekend where they lost to the pacesetters on Saturday before beating Werneth on Sunday.
