AN EXCELLENT display saw Diggle win 4-2 at Heywood Irish centre in division one of the Huddersfield and District League.
Having been beaten 9-2 by the champions in last season’s corresponding fixture, Diggle went into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Lee Clarke and Matt Taylor.
However, their advantage was wiped out with two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Diggle then regained their composure, retaking the lead on the hour from Gaz Goddard’s penalty before Taylor grabbed his second.
