Hoppers extend lead

CHADDY Hoppers’ under-11s blue team went six points clear at the top of the table after a 5-1 win at Whitworth.

Having trailed early on, Hoppers replied with goals from Josh Lindsay, Dan Ratcliff (two), Daniel Randle and Gilly Clarke.

The red team reached the last four of the Subsidiary Cup thanks to a hard-fought 3-2 victory at Rossendale Boys thanks to Josh Alker (two) and Josh O’Donnell.

There was also a Subsidiary Cup victory for the under-12s’ red team as they had a resounding 10-0 victory over Summerseat with Blaine Biggs, Josh Hughes (three each), Joe Gill, Sean Gleeson and Stephen Wharmby all on target.

However, the blue team were beaten 3-2 by Moston Brook despite goals from Jordan Anderson and Lewis Allen.

A fine performance from keeper Ben Keeley prevented the under-14s from losing against bottom side Glenross as Hoppers drew 1-1, Joe Freeman with their goal.
