Oldham Athletic 1 Huddersfield Town 1

Gavin Browne
9/ 4/2007

FORMER Latic Luke Beckett came back to rescue his former club with a second-half equaliser which snatched a point for Huddersfield.

The striker was left unmarked six yards out to head past Les Pogliacomi after James Berrett had headed Joe Skarz's cross to the far post.

Chris Porter had opened the scoring for Athletic, becoming the first Latics player in almost 30 years to score 20 league goals in a season.

The striker raced onto the ball before nutmegging Martin McIntosh and coolly sliding a shot past Matt Glennon and into the far corner.

Porter sent a free header over the bar on the hour before Glennon denied Paul Warne as Latics looked on course for another victory.

Once Beckett had levelled with 12 minutes left, Town almost snatched a win two minutes later as Pogliacomi acrobatically tipped over from Jon Worthington.
