LATICS boss John Sheridan is under no illusions about the task facing his team when they travel to Hartlepool United on Saturday.
The Coca-Cola League One table-toppers make the trip to Victoria Park, aiming to extend their unbeaten league run to seven games and consolidate their place at the top of the table.
However, it has been a less than happy hunting ground for Athletic in the past, notably last season when Lee Hughes’ debut ended with Sheridan’s side on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline.
Sheridan watched Hartlepool, managed by his former Sheffield Wednesday team-mate Danny Wilson, beat Cheltenham Town 4-1 last Friday, a result which spelled the end for Town boss Keith Downing.
Sheridan said: "The result was possibly a bit false but they play good football and move the ball around. We have to go there believing we can win the game. If we don’t at this moment in time, we never will. I’m expecting a hard game but one we can win."
