Search to replace midfielders

OLDHAM Athletic boss John Sheridan faces having to sign at least two midfielders over the summer.
Gary McDonald has signed a pre-contract agreement with SPL side Aberdeen while JP Kalala has been told he can leave Boundary Park after one season.
McDonald had been offered a new two-year contract having spent two years with Athletic and scored 12 goals in 91 appearances.
He told Aberdeen's official website: “I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Oldham and was made a good offer to stay. However, the lure of returning to the SPL with such a great club as Aberdeen was a major factor in my decision and I can't wait for the new season to get under way.”
Kalala, a Congo international, arrived at the club last summer but found regular games hard to come by thanls to a combination of injuries and the form of McDonald and Mark Allott.
With Sheridan looking to freshen up his squad, Kalala has been told the club will not stand in his way should he find new employers.
McDonald is not the only player to depart the club as youngsters Ashley Kelly and Michael Pearson have been released.
