Sheridan bemoans 'weak' Latics

OLDHAM started the season with a whimper and it looks like they are going to end it the same manner - to John Sheridan's frustration.

Saturday's defeat at Northampton left the Latics boss scratching his head.

He admitted: "The players looked totally different and I can't put my finger on why we were such a soft touch.

"I will sort it out and I told them afterwards that I need players who want to get us out of this division.

"To do that they have to perform week in, week out.

"You just can't play well at home then put on a display like that when we were poor, weak and ineffective."

Giles Coke and Ryan Gilligan scored the goals which condemned the Latics to their ninth away defeat of the season.

Sheridan added: "Northampton wanted it more, looked a decent team, were sharper all over the pitch and deserved the win.

"I don't like any team of mine playing like that, we didn't turn up and it was one to forget.

"We should want to win every game from the first to the last and I won't accept anything less. We were sloppy and at times looked very tired.

"I will be looking for a good start next season to give us the confidence to go for promotion, I know we can do it."

It's time for Sheridan to resign and the legend should return. Bring back Ronnie Moore!
