Girls returning to action

OLDHAM Athletic’s various girls teams returned to action last weekend with four victories and two defeats.
Abby Bennett hit a hat-trick while Ashleigh Spragg also found the net as the under-12s won their division two game against Heyside Angels Whites, 4-1.
The under-16s won 3-2 at Uppermill Rockettes thanks to two goals from Sarah Ryan and one from Britany Birtles.
There were wins for both under-14s sides, the Girls winning by default at Uppermill Rockettes where the home side could not provide a team.
The Blues prevailed 10-2 at Rochdale with Faye Hardacre (four), Courtney Hunter (two), Megan Jackson, Anna Moorhouse, Georgia Flynn and Jessica Tonge all finding the net.
However, the under-10s were beaten 5-0 by Curzon Ashton, while the under-12s’ hopes of lifting the division one title were ended after a 1-0 defeat in their top-of-the-table match against Heyside Angels Clarets.
THE club would also like to thank everyone involved with the bag packing initiatives at Asda and Sainsburys on February 3 and 10 respectively. They raised £849.14 at Asda and £359.60 at Sainsburys.
