BLACKLEY Cricket Club's weekend was one of mixed fortunes, with a win, loss and a draw registered over the two days.
In their first fixture in the Site Electrical North Manchester League the second team took on Rochdalians in a rain-affected game.
The weather prevailed and the points were shared.
On Saturday the first team lost to Rochdale Catholic Club in a close game, but their form improved the following day when they faced Swinton Moorside in the first round of the 20-over Hodson Cup at The Tweedle Hill Road ground.
Blackley took the win, helped by opening batsman Dean Wolstenholme who smashed a breathtaking 61 not out, his half-century coming off only 12 deliveries.
