OLDHAM are six points behind Lake Garage CLL leaders Heywood following a weekend where they lost to the pacesetters on Saturday before beating Werneth on Sunday.
Saturday had seen Oldham bowled out for 122 at Heywood, the hosts replying with 123-1.
However, Sunday brought a better outcome as Werneth made 145-9 before Oldham squeezed home with two wickets in hand on 146-8.
Sunday’s other local derby between Royton and Crompton was the victim of a waterlogged surface. Crompton were well beaten at Milnrow on Saturday where the hosts racked up 290 all out before dismissing their visitors for 114 in reply.
There was a similarly one-sided game between Royton and Norden, the latter batting first and reaching 270-6 before Royton were skittled for 124.
Werneth lost by one run against Middleton as their visitors made 131-9 and they were dismissed for 130
