Second spot secured

THE final league matches of the Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance saw AJK win the battle to finish second behind champions Star Eleven.

They beat Copthorne by 35 runs, making 146 before dismissing Copthorne for 111.

Third-placed Friends reached 105 against Europa Exiles who were all out for 58.

Star Eleven had a five-wicket victory against Foresters, reaching 109-5 after bowling out the latter for 106.

Radclyffe were nine-wicket winners against Waterhead Methodist, making 86-1 having seen their visitors reach 84-8.
