THE Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance staged the quarter-finals of their Shield competition and the Supplementary Cup semi-finals last weekend.
Shield action at Copthorne saw visitors Europa Exiles bat first and be dismissed for 92, Zahoor Raza taking 5-20 for the hosts who replied with 93-6.
St Mary’s HC made 103-7 at Newtonhurst who replied with 106-4, Buckley following up his earlier figures of 3-8 by hitting 30 in the Newtonhurst innings.
Qasim’s 63 helped Friends compile 223-7 at Greengate who were dismissed for 154 in reply as Irman took 4-16.
The other match saw Foresters victorious by the toss of a coin at AJK after their ground was deemed unfit for play.
Copthorne face Newtonhurst and Foresters play Friends in the semi-finals on the weekend of August 23-24.
Jay Hind face Radclyffe in August 3’s Supplementary Cup final after they defeated Waterhead Methodist by eight wickets and Radclyffe beat Star Eleven in a bowl-out.
