Mosin century helps his Friends out

FRIENDS continued their good form in the Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance with a five-point victory against visiting Newtonhurst.

The away side batted first and made 146-9, Potts top-scoring with 49 as Mahmood took 4-23 for Friends.

They made short work of their reply, reaching 149-2 as Mosin made an undefeated 101.

Leaders Star Eleven had a convincing win at Copthorne Imran’s 116 helped them to 243-8 before Sajid (3-9) and Rizwan (3-36) saw the hosts all out for 132.

Radclyffe batted first at Waterhead Methodist and were all out for 119 despite skipper Johnson hitting 40.

Norbury and Palfreyman took 3-17 and 3-21 respectively for Waterhead who made 120-7 in reply, Daubney making 39.

There was a convincing victory for Europa Exiles against St Mary’s HC as Finn took 4-12 to help dismiss Saints for 63.

Farrow then compiled 23 as Europa finished on 65-3, Tuite returning figures of 3-11 for St Mary’s.

Hammer (37) and Clarke (32) helped Greengate compile 169-9 at AJK, only for the hosts to reach their target for the loss of five wickets as Naseer made 95 not out and Munir 42. Fairclough took 3-38 for Greengate.

A game reduced to 35 overs saw Foresters make 145-9 at Jay Hind, Steele hitting 42 with Kamlesh taking 7-42 for a home side who reached 146-7 in reply, Viral making 40.

SUNDAY’S inter-league encounter against the Greater Manchester League was abandoned after 11 overs with the Ashton and Oldham Alliance on 37-4 having batted first.
