Club’s OK with ‘kit-off’ Chris

A LATICS striker offered a part in 'The Full Monty' will be getting his kit off after all following a change of heart by the club.

We reported last week how striker Chris Hall looked like having his acting ambitions dashed after boss John Sheridan ruled that the show - due to run in Stockport from November 23 to 25 - broke player curfews that forbid them going out 48 hours before a match.

But after learning that the show will be raising money for children's charity Manchester Kids, the club changed tack.

Chief executive at Latics, Alan Hardy, said: "We didn't realise the show was raising cash for such a worthwhile charity. Chris has had a chat with the manager and promised to be in bed early on Thursday and Friday."

'The Full Monty' - a smash hit film - tells the story of six unemployed factory workers who become male strippers.

NK Theatre Arts, of Stockport, is putting on the show and Chris has the part of 'Horse' after being spotted in the audience at a previous production.

Darren Stannage, company manager at NK Theatre Arts, said: "With rehearsals imminent we suddenly found ourselves a cast member down.

"When Chris came to watch a show he was approached by the director and was really up for it. When we found out he was a footballer with Oldham it made it even more exciting."
