Street star wants path moved to ensure privacy

A CORONATION Street star wants a public footpath moved so he can have more privacy.
Actor Sean Wilson, who plays Martin Platt, has asked for the path to be diverted away from his house in Saddleworth.
But ramblers say the diversion would lead walkers up a steep hill and objections have also been raised by the area's planning committee.
John Walton, footpaths secretary of the Oldham Ramblers, said: "If the footpath is moved, people would be forced to walk along a road and up a steep hillside.
"A lot of walkers use that second route already, but that doesn't mean everyone should be forced to go that way."
A letter from Oldham Council to the ramblers' association says the actor is concerned his privacy might be disturbed.
A spokesman for Oldham Council said he could not comment on the case at this stage.
The council is understood to be undertaking informal consultations and is gathering the views of interested parties.
Mr Wilson was unavailable for comment.
