FANS' group Oldham Athletic Supporters Association (OASA) is the latest organisation to support our 'I'm Backing Latics' campaign.
OASA, which celebrated its 75th birthday this year, is campaigning for more supporters to join them and raise funds for the club in its hour of need. However they were more than happy to support our scheme which rewards random supporters who display our car stickers and buy the matchday programme.
Vice president Jeff Vernon said: "Anything that brings supporters back to Boundary Park is a good idea. At least people will come along to the games if they think they have a chance of winning something as well."
The group is affiliated to the National Federation of Football Supporters Clubs and offers supporters financial benefits. On becoming a member people receive a 10 per cent discount on merchandise bought from the club shop as well as a 10 per cent reduction on the price of coach travel to away games. They also receive an official badge and a discount on entry to events organised by OASA. These events include forums with players and management, starting with the 'Question of Sport' night on November 19 in the sponsors' lounge.
Tickets for that are £2 for non-members and £1 members, including a potato pie supper. The group also stages a monthly quiz on the first Monday of each month with admission £1 per person.
Membership costs £5 per year or £4 for renewals and runs from December to December. Forms are available from the club shop, any committee member or by e-mailing oldhamfans@hotmail.co.uk
