   Mr. Davis' symptoms sound familiar. I have Acute Intermittent Porphyria. His family should persist in finding a knowledgable physician and have Jimmy tested thoroughly and repeatedly for evidence of the acute porphyrias. Negative test results DO NOT rule out Porphyria! How does he respond to glucose IV's and high carb diets? Starting the simple basic treatments for acute porphyria can do him no harm and may definitely help him.
