A bit about... Rupert Murray

The first thing I do when I wake up is... Sweat. At the moment the process of thinking about film projects wakes me up at 7am every morning without fail.

Ideally I would spend every day... I would wake up on a coconut plantation in the Pacific, then work on a canoe, then go for a paddle and come back to my wife and child who'd be waiting for me on the beach.

If money was no object I would... Start a huge charitable organisation that promotes the idea of no-take zones, which are like nature reserves in the sea.

The greatest gift I have ever received was... My wife Chantal.

My one piece of advice would be... Never give up.

My first job was... A DJ, but not the cool kind. It was when acid house was going on, but I was travelling around the country ruining people's big days by playing The Lady In Red and Knock On Wood. It was fantastic.

I'm scared of... Global warming. Making this film made me realise I don't have any personal fears, but I've got a lot of external fears about the human race going into a nose dive.

I'm excited by... Everything.

If I could go back in time and do one thing again it would be... I couldn't possibly tell you.

I love... Another thing I learned from making this film was how much I value the people around me, and how important they are, because Doug lost the attachment to people around him. It made me think about all the time I've spent with people around me, and all the things they've put up with.

I hate... Range Rovers and the people who drive them.

I want... A 3v 5mm Second World War Bell and Howell camera, from Alan Gordon Enterprises in LA.

You have to read... Every day.

Everyone should listen to... Radio Four.

You must watch... Unknown White Male, because the way I made it told the story from Doug's perspective, which is very unusual for a film about amnesia.

The first time I fell in love... Was when I was about five, and it was with a picture of aquanauts. I fell in love with the idea of an underwater city, where people farm using dolphins as sheep dogs. I've been in love with going under the ocean ever since.

I think God is... Everywhere. When I look up at the stars at night - that's God. I don't need to look for a creator behind it.
