Soapbox: Love is in the air on the Street
Rachel Broady3/ 2/2006
CORONATION STREET Eileen isn't one for long
drawn out flirtations, so she fronts up Ed and asks him if he
fancies her or what? And she's stunned when he says he thinks they
have a future together.
I can't see our Eileen arranging the church flowers, can you?
And how will she cope when he doesn't want more than a cuddle on
the settee?
Tracy has a hot date with Charlie. Then, "Come into my parlour"
says the spider to the fly and the fly is thrilled to be moving in
with Weatherfield's dodgiest builder.
But love ain't so easy for Ty and Maria. He dumps her - which is as
much of a surprise to her as to us - and is determined to
concentrate on his fast food business.
Molly is quick to offer her support, of course.
He'd better watch out or she'll eat the stock.
Meanwhile, Rita's good Samaritan role puts her in danger when
stowaway Stacy has a visitor who trashes Rita's flat and then
attacks her. He doesn't cut his hand on her lacquered hair, in fact
he leaves poor Rita in a state.
EMMERDALE Ding Dong lets slip to Debbie that Cain
is bringing Sarah back to the village.
But Debbie wants nowt to do with the kid.
The Dingles, of course, don't understand that level of neglect - so
she is disowned by the entire family.
Chas, meanwhile, isn't having much fun with motherhood
either.
Her son would rather spend time with Shadrach. That's one mixed up
kid!
But he reveals he's insecure that his stepmum is about to have a
baby and he'll play second fiddle - and after letting slip that
Cain slept with Del, Chas sends him packing back to his dad's,
agreeing that the new baby will be more loved.
What a sensitive mummy.
EASTENDERS Pauline decides it's time to take off
her old wedding ring so that she can wear her new engagement ring.
At last a character takes a step forward.
But, let us think, who from the past will turn up at the
wedding.
My money is on Michelle. Oh, and Sharon and Mark and Vicky. May as
well get them all in, eh?
Patrick starts flirting with Pat and the couple are almost caught
by Jim. Poor Jim!
And thinking Keith is Mike, a delirious Nora tells him that Rosie
still loves him.
