QUALITY control worker for Smith and Nephew textiles until her retirement Mrs Kathleen Lomax of Willowbank Nursing Home, Burnley, died on 10 July, aged 66.
Mrs Lomax was born in Waterfoot and attended Waterfoot Primary School and then Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School.
Her childhood was blighted by ill health and at 14 she developed diabetes that continued to be a problem throughout her life.
She was a member of the former St James CE Church, Waterfoot, where she was confirmed by the Bishop of Middleton and later taught at the Sunday school.
Mrs Lomax met her late husband Frank at a New Year‘s dance and they married at St James Church in 1966 before making their home in Cloughfold. They both enjoyed holidays and their succession of cars.
She leaves her brother Clifford.
