Ken Melling

FORMER garage owner Mr Ken Melling, of Laneside Road, Haslingden, died at Wordsworth House, Hapton, aged 78.
Mr Melling, originally from Failsworth, moved to Haslingden and became the proprietor of Acre and later the owner of Townsend Street garage.
He enjoyed dancing with his late wife Jean and was a member of the Masonic Hall in Haslingden.
Mr Melling leaves his sons Steven and Philip, daughters-in-law Lisanne and Anne, grandchildren Alex, Luke and Avril, brother Jim and sister-in-law Hilda.
His funeral was on Friday 18 July when the Rev Stephen Brown will conduct a service at St Peter’s Church, Laneside, before cremation at Accrington. Family flowers and donations to the Alzheimer’s Society c/o funeral director: Josephine Durning for Johnson, Durning and Woods Funeral Service, Haslingden.
